Alpha's Scrutiny Panel
Scrutiny Themes

Based on feedback from our residents following the Listening Sessions carried out by Sarah, our Director of Operations in April and May earlier this year, Alpha is refreshing its approach to scrutiny.

An open invitation was sent to all our residents who would like to come along and find out a little bit more about scrutiny. As a result 4 new people joined the Scrutiny Panel which met last Tuesday

The Panel was joined by Claire Blacka from Tentacles Consultancy where the group looked in more detail at what scrutiny was and prioritised the service areas residents would like to look at in more detail.

What is scrutiny you might ask?

It’s looking at service areas within Alpha in more detail, including our performance and:

  • Telling us where we can improve
  • Spotting things we’re doing well
  • Coming up with new ideas
  • Changing things that don’t work.

Our residents carried out several activities, including airing our dirty laundry, and of course there was tea and cakes! The panel established that it’s top 4 priorities to review further are as follows:

  1. First contact communication
  2. Culture and accountability
  3. Extreme temperatures
  4. Good neighbours.

Our residents had a fantastic time with Clare and did some valuable work around what questions should be asked during a scrutiny exercise and are very much looking forward to the next scrutiny review on first contact communication.

The Panel will be meeting on Tuesday 22 September from 10am until 2pm at Poppyfields, Wirral. If you would like to get involved then please contact your Development Manager if you have one, call us on 0330 460 9870, or drop us an email at enquiries@alpha-living.co.uk
