We only provide housing for older people in the North of England, so it means we are very niche and we can be experts in the housing delivery that we provide.
Sally Parsons, Alpha's CEO
We are passionate about promoting independence later in life and specialise in providing sheltered and extra care accommodation for people aged 55 years and older.
Most of our developments have a dedicated Manager working on site during office hours, who are assisted by our housekeepers, who are also there to help out with further support if needed through our Alpha Plus service. Independent living, but with a helping hand.
All our homes have a 24-hour Warden call system to support our residents to live independently.
Most of our developments have guest rooms which are handy for relatives and friends to come and visit if they live a little bit further afield, and when some extra support may be needed.
Our size is a strength and allows us to know and support all our residents individually.
All our residents are offered a support plan if they would like one, which is regularly reviewed by our Development Managers.
Our latest Tenant Satisfaction Measures for 2025/26 revealed that 92.3% of our residents who responded are satisfied or very satisfied with the overall service received from Alpha.
We're also extremely proud that we have won several awards. In 2023, we won the Best Older People's Landlord award at the Affordable Housing Awards, and in May 2026, our resident and Board Member Veronica Cuthbert won Tenant of the Year at the Northern Housing Awards, where Alpha was also nominated for Best Repairs and Maintenance Service.
