    Kevin Willetts

    Kevin Willetts is an experienced housing and retirement living professional with executive and non-executive experience across the public, private and social housing sectors. He brings strong expertise in governance, regulation, risk, financial control, business growth and strategic development.

    Kevin has led major development programmes, including responsibility for site identification, design, construction and sales of five of the UK’s largest retirement villages, each comprising around 260 apartments and extensive community facilities. He also supported the Extra Care Charitable Trust as it reached the 1,000-unit threshold for the Regulator of Social Housing.

    He currently serves as a Non-Executive Director at Crown Care, advising on housing and care home development, feasibility, planning, project management and leasehold services. His board contribution is underpinned by commercial insight, sector knowledge and a commitment to creating high-quality, sustainable communities for older people.

    Tony Muir

    Tony is a Chartered Surveyor with over 30 years’ experience in Property Asset Management across the public, private and social housing sectors. He is an accomplished strategic leader with more than 20 years’ experience operating at Board and Executive level, delivering effective governance, organisational leadership and business transformation.

    Tony has extensive experience working with senior executives, board members and key stakeholders, coupled with over 15 years’ service as a Company Director and Board Member within public and private sector joint ventures and limited companies.

    Tony demonstrates strong commercial and operational expertise in contract and contractor management, with experience gained from both client-side and contractor roles, enabling the successful delivery of complex asset management and investment programmes.

    Peter Gibbs

    Pete has 30 years’ experience in the field of Strategic Human Resource Management. He has extensive private and public sector experience holding positions in large blue-chip companies and in numerous Higher Education Institutions. Currently the Executive Director of Human Resources at Wrexham Glyndwr University, Pete joins us after an 11 year tenure as Trustee and Board Member for Creative Support, where he Chaired the HR Committee. He has excellent knowledge and experience of Governance issues having experienced governance processes from both an officer and Board member perspective. A Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, the professional body for HR and People Development, Pete is looking forward to getting stuck into the role and making a difference and contributing to the ongoing growth and success of Alpha.

    Graham Bell

    Graham is a co-optee to the Alpha Board. 

    Graham currently sits on the boards of several organisations, each of which has a clear social purpose. Graham also chairs the audit and governance committee for a regional planning body, grant-funded by government and which represents business leaders and local authorities across the North of England. Graham has a strong risk and assurance background having worked as a consultant and in senior roles in a variety of regulated sectors, across a 35-year career. 

    Graham is an expert author for award-winning publishers Kogan Page, Graham sits on the Leadership Council of the Global Risk Forum and has served on risk committees at the British Standards Institution (BSI). He also has a record of successful commercial project delivery in areas including process redesign, systems implementation and organisational change. Graham now help boards to find new and better ways to manage risk, improve governance, foster transparency, and maximise their organisation's growth potential.

  • Nick Cumberland

    Nick Cumberland

    Nick is an experienced housing professional with over 20 years’ in the sector. Currently responsibility for leading and co-ordinating the delivery of Great Places two Strategic Housing Partnerships with Homes England which will see over £1Bn worth of investment into high quality new affordable housing over the next 6 years. Focussing on accountability and transparency of current delivery, new opportunities, partnerships and ensuring a balanced portfolio of sites to ensure that Great Places meets it target of c1,000 new homes being per annum over the next 5 to 6 years.

    Prior to this, Nick worked on a range of affordable housing programmes and land opportunities at Homes England and has significant experience of the strategic development and implementation of housing and regeneration schemes at two Local Authorities in the North West. Nick is passionate about housing and regeneration and particularly architecture, design and place.

  • Veronica Cuthbert
    Co-optee to the Board

    Veronica Cuthbert

    Veronica is a confident, committed and experienced retired healthcare professional having worked for many years in the NHS and Independent Healthcare sector in a variety of settings with roles in clinical practice, nursing research and education and senior management posts in Sheffield, Bolton, Salford, Liverpool, Wirral and Chester.

    Whilst in Salford NHS Veronica was the RCN Centre Chair as well as their Union Steward and Safety Rep. In the Nurse Planner role in Bolton Veronica led on Care of the Elderly Strategy and was involved in the development of the new Care of the Elderly Units, as well as in commissioning other projects.

    As Matron/Manager she also collaborated with the architect and the new Hoylake Cottage Trust Board in the redesign of the facilities as well as the recruitment of all staff and development of policies and procedures when it re-opened in 1984.

    In Wirral whilst working in Public Health, she held Directorships (non-remunerative) in community-based organisations, Tranmere Alliance & Cammell Lairds Community Trust.

    On retirement she was elected as a Public Governor for Wirral Community NHS Health and Care Trust (2015-2022) and acted as Chair of the Governors Quality Forum during that period. She was also a Trustee for Irish Community Care Merseyside (2012–2017) and in 2017 became the President of Heswall Soroptimists International involving fundraising for local and international charities and promoting other local activities.

    Veronica also has over ten years pre-retirement experience in the field of Equality, Diversity and Human Rights establishing Staff Equality Champions Networks across the NHS in Wirral and Chester and leading on Equality Schemes and Equality Analysis with community involvement.

    After becoming a resident with Alpha-Living in October 2023, Veronica became a founding member of the Alpha Scrutiny Panel and presented a Workshop to fellow members on Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging.

    Since becoming a co-opted member of the Board in March 2026 she has recently been appointed as a Board representative on the Scrutiny Panel. With her fellow Resident Board member she is committed to listening and sharing the views of Alpha residents across both Wirral and the wider locations. She is of the opinion that the ethos and values of Alpha-Living enhance the health and wellbeing of all its residents and goes a long way in adding years to life and life to years.

    On a personal perspective this has enabled Veronica to continue with her current outside interests of being a volunteer guide at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral (having recently presented an ‘Armchair tour’ by means of a slide presentation to fellow residents. Veronica also makes weekly visits to a local primary school leading a ‘Learn to crochet class’ as well as Reading Support for younger children. She enjoys having friends and family to visit and enjoy the comfort of her forever home and wishes that fellow and future Alpha residents share that sense of comfort, security and delight in living in such a welcoming and friendly environment which produces a sense of well-being and glad to be alive! In May 2026, Veronica won the Tenant of the Year at the annual Northern Housing Awards held in Manchester.

    Board Member

    Ben Jones

    Ben has been working in the social housing sector for over 20 years and is currently the Head of Asset Management at Clwyd Alyn Housing. Ben is passionate about equality and providing quality homes. Within his current role, Ben is an experienced building surveyor/project manager who is responsible for maintaining and delivering safe homes along the North Wales coast. Ben’s main passion is mentoring and developing others in line with his own values and that of the companies he represents.

    Outside of work, Ben likes to spend time with his wife and two children, play lots of Golf, walking the dog and following his favourite football team.

  • Lawrence McIntosh
    Board Member

    Lawrence McIntosh

    Lawrence has eight years experience in the Social Housing sector, recently ending his Board appointment tenure with a medium sized Manchester based Housing Association. 

    He lives within Merseyside, has held a variety of committee roles in his involvement in the sector, Lawrence also is currently involved with a community voice panel within Knowsley that engages with involved tenants for another registered provider. 

    It is essential that quality and service provision for older people should always be a primary focus, Lawrence is keen to immerse himself in Alpha, the offer for aging tenants that continually contributes to the health, safety and wellbeing in later life is key, this has been observed through the excellent work the organisation has already accomplished 

    Lawrence is passionate about how sector constantly evolves and rises to meet existing and new challenges, the tenant engagement and voice is always crucial ensuring they are at the heart of any decision making, whilst being front and centre in the minds of anyone involved within the housing sector as a whole. 

    His downtime is occupied throughout the year walking the Lake & Peak District also exploring the lakes and coastline of Italy.

    Dawn Morris

    With over 30 years of experience in the finance sector, Dawn is a seasoned Licensed Accountant and Business Consultant who has successfully navigated roles across the private, public, and third sectors. Her expertise spans from strategic financial and operational management to C-suite leadership.  As the founder of her own consultancy firm and co-founder of Integral Experts—a collective of trusted professionals providing holistic services with authenticity, transparency, and pragmatism, delivering strategic solutions tailored to client needs. She also serves as a Non-Executive Director for a housing association specialising in older peoples housing.  
    A passionate advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), Dawn is deeply committed to advancing the social and economic prospects of Global Majority communities., and we are very proud that Dawn is our Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) Champion on the Board. Her work empowers individuals, communities, and organisations to unlock their full potential. Dawn has been recognised for her leadership, including her feature in the Anthony Walker Foundation's ‘See Me Be Me’ project, which spotlights prominent Black and diverse leaders to inspire and motivate future generations through their professional achievements and lived experiences.
    In addition to her leadership and consultancy work, Dawn is an accomplished public speaker, delivering keynote addresses, participates in panels, and leads masterclasses focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Her mission is to raise awareness and foster deeper understanding, helping to build a more equitable and inclusive society for all.
    In her spare time Dawn enjoys gym sessions, travelling, and music events.

    Alison Tattersall

    Alison spent 30 years working for the Civil Service. During this time, she did a wide variety of roles from assessing benefit entitlement, designing and delivering new processes, analysing and testing both system and procedural changes as well as leading teams split between Liverpool and Preston. Throughout her career Alison aimed to provide the best service possible to customers and her staff. 

    Having a mid-life career change Alison then became a pre-school teacher gaining a level 3 NVQ in Early years. She say’s of this job – it was great as I got paid to play! That said, age took its toll and after 9 years Alison retired and as part of her retirement plan to future proof her health and well being moved into an Alpha flat on the Wirral. 

    In her 4 years with Alpha, Alison has become secretary for the residents’ meetings, organised and run bacon butty mornings as well as making ad hoc meals for the residents. She loves living in the community knowing there’s always people to chat to and an organisation which cares about its residents.

    Alison is dedicated to providing the board with a resident’s eye view of living in an Alpha property. She is committed to listening and sharing the views of the whole Alpha community. She would love Alpha to be the No 1 choice for any older person looking for independent living accommodation.

    Outside of Alpha, Alison is an active member of her local Baptist church, secretary for a local social group for ex public and civil servants, school reader volunteer, ad hoc dog sitter as well as being very involved with 3 very active grand children and a myriad of friends.
