    Steve has worked in housing for 30 years and is passionate about older persons living. He has worked in Development, Asset Management and Housing Management and is currently the Regeneration Director at Platform Housing developing several retirement living schemes as well as Social Community Enterprises.

    Prior to this Steve worked at Magenta Living as its Assistant Director for Development and built over a thousand affordable homes on the Wirral including extra care and supported housing schemes. He lives locally and is also a Church Warden, Parochial Church Council Member and School Governor.

    Kieran is a very experienced Finance Director who has worked in Merseyside public sector organisations for over 20 years including being Deputy Chief Executive and Treasurer for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority where he had a national profile supporting the Local Government Association and the Chief Fire Officer’s association. Kieran has worked as FD at a number of Housing Associations and is currently Group Finance Director at Prima Housing Group.

    Board Member


    Lorri Holding has worked in the Supported Housing sector for over 25 years commissioning and developing a range of Young & Older Persons supported and care related accommodation.

    Lorri currently works as the Strategic Housing Consultant for a number of specialist housing providers who focus on complex clients from Leaving Care and Asylum-seeking young people within the North West.

    She is passionate about shaping services to deliver high quality housing related support that produces planned, tangible and measured outcomes.

    Lorri has sat on a range of boards over the years, more recently Arawak Housing Association in Manchester where she also chaired the Remuneration and Selection Committee for 9 years.

    In her down time, Lorri volunteers for a number of LGBT and homelessness charities and delivers a weekend street support team in city centre Manchester that work directly with those affected by homelessness, illness and mental health issues.

  • Board Gill Bennett 2022
    Board Member


    Gill joined the Board in 2018 with over 30 years of experience working at a senior level in various housing organisations in the North West and serving on the Board of an Arm’s Length Management Organisation in Leeds. She also spent eight years working for the Audit Commission, where she inspected housing services and led a number of improvement projects in poorly performing organisations. Her particular focus is on engaging customers and communities in decision making and ensuring services meet their needs.

    Away from the Boardroom Gill is a keen photographer, beekeeper and gardener and, since her retirement from paid employment, also volunteers on a refugee resettlement project in Manchester.

    Pete has 30 years’ experience in the field of Strategic Human Resource Management. He has extensive private and public sector experience holding positions in large blue-chip companies and in numerous Higher Education Institutions. Currently the Executive Director of Human Resources at Wrexham Glyndwr University, Pete joins us after an 11 year tenure as Trustee and Board Member for Creative Support, where he Chaired the HR Committee. He has excellent knowledge and experience of Governance issues having experienced governance processes from both an officer and Board member perspective. A Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, the professional body for HR and People Development, Pete is looking forward to getting stuck into the role and making a difference and contributing to the ongoing growth and success of Alpha.

    Dawn has worked in the finance sector for over 30 years and is a partner of a Licenced Accountancy and Business Consultancy service working nationally. She has over 20 years experience of working for a local Housing Association and has recently been appointed as Financial Controller of Zeus Tech Solutions Ltd.

    Dawn is Treasurer and Trustee of Mandela8 Charity and Secretary and Committee Member of Black Fundraisers UK (a Special Interest Group of Chartered Institute of Fundraising). Dawn is passionate about Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and dedicates her time to advance social and economic prospects for Black and Ethnic Communities; helping individuals, communities, and organisations to achieve their potential.

    In her down-time, she enjoys walking, travelling and soul/RnB music.

    Laura has been working in the social housing sector for nearly ten years and is the Founder and Director of Invisible Creations® - an organisation that specialises in designing products that support people to live well and independently in their homes for longer.

    Laura has a real passion for housing and generating tangible positive change for some of the most vulnerable people living in our communities. Through her role at Invisible Creations®, and Board positions for Women in Social Housing and the Chartered Institute of Housing in the North East, she's dedicated to improving lives and works hard to bring people together to tackle some of the biggest issues we face across the housing sector.

    Laura loves board sports - surfing, paddle boarding and snowboarding, and when she's not at the beach or on a board she can be found with a book and a hot chocolate.

  • Ben Jones
    Board Member


    Ben has been working in the social housing sector for over 20 years having held various management roles within Asset Management at ClwydAlyn Housing and Anglesey County Council previous to that.

    Ben is passionate about equality and providing homes that residents can be proud to live in. Within his current role, Ben is an experienced building surveyor who is responsible for maintaining and delivering safe homes as a Principal Asset Manager covering seven counties throughout North Wales, including extra care and sheltered accommodation.

    Outside of work, Ben likes to spend time with his family, play lots of Golf and also coaches a local junior football team

  • Nick Cumberland
    Board Member


    Nick is an experienced housing professional with over 20 years’ in the sector. Currently responsibility for leading and co-ordinating the delivery of Great Places two Strategic Housing Partnerships with Homes England which will see over £1Bn worth of investment into high quality new affordable housing over the next 6 years. Focussing on accountability and transparency of current delivery, new opportunities, partnerships and ensuring a balanced portfolio of sites to ensure that Great Places meets it target of c1,000 new homes being per annum over the next 5 to 6 years.

    Prior to this, Nick worked on a range of affordable housing programmes and land opportunities at Homes England and has significant experience of the strategic development and implementation of housing and regeneration schemes at two Local Authorities in the North West. Nick is passionate about housing and regeneration and particularly architecture, design and place.
